Central Florida Fun in the Sun
Before there were theme parks, the multiplex cinemas, and golf courses there was John B. Steinmentz, who in 1895 after a devastating freeze destroyed his citrus crop, converted his packing house into an ice skating rink set us some picnic tables, made a bathhouse and built a toboggan slide into a cool, refreshing spring and created Orlando's first thrill ride and entertainment center.
112 years later, the rides may have changed but the sensation is the same-having fun with family and friends. Sometimes it seems that Central Florida was destined to become the entertainment, recreation, and shopping paradise that it is today. Locals reap the benefits of living in this tropical playground with nonstop fun in the sun activities. Everything from catching some waves at the beach and taming a wild rollercoaster to watching a rocket launch and wandering through a museum is possible in Central Florida. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There's symphonies, comedy clubs, operas, plays, ballets, art festivals, and…let’s just say you'll never run out of things to do in Central Florida.
