Central Florida Climate and Environment

It's easy to see why so many people have relocated to Central Florida: nearby sandy beaches, abundant sunshine, warm weather, and no snow. Central Florida has essentially two seasons-hot and rainy from April to October with average temperatures in the 90's, then moderate temperatures and less rain from November to March with average temperatures in the low 70's.

The geography of Central Florida makes for unique weather conditions during the summer months. Warn air from the Gulf of Mexico collides with the cooler air of the Atlantic Ocean over Central Florida producing mountainous cloud formations and spectacular thunderstorms. These storms also create lightening, a lot of lightning. In fact, Orlando is often called the lightning capital of the United States.

Despite the occasional seasonal thunderstorm, Florida is called the Sunshine State for a reason. With over 300 sunny days a year, wear your sunglasses and put on your sun block when you get out and explore your new home-Central Florida.
